CONTEMPORARY ISSUES II

In the winter term, students examine such issues as the ban on seal pelts and other furs, environmental contaminants, and the organizations that address them on behalf of Inuit. They also look at the story behind the creation of the Nunavut government and the issues that were considered in its design.

Inuit History II>>>

(L-R) Mathewsie Ashavak and Pauloosie Akeeagok confront anti-fur protestors near the NS offices during January, 2004. The anti-fur movement is one of the many issues discussed in the Contemporary Issues course.
