2nd Year students take a course entitled Introduction to the
Circumpolar World, delivered through the University of the
Arctic. This course can be taken either on-line, or in the
NS classroom.
The course introduces students to the landscape, peoples and
issues of the northern circumpolar region. It surveys some
of the particular issues facing the region, including climate
change, economic, political and social development. The prospects
for the region in the future are discussed, as is the potential
role for the University of the Arctic.
