INUKTITUT
IV
This course will be a continuation of topics and skills
introduced in Inuktitut III with additions of an Inuktitut
language research project, reading and writing a short novel,
oral presentation skills, and reviewing old and new Inuktitut
terminology.
This being the last semester in the Inuktitut courses, the
students will be involved in different types of testing.
For reading, students will be recording themselves as they
read throughout the year and compare reading proficiency
from the beginning to the year end. For writing, students
will write a 5 chapter short novel with a choice of writing
a fiction or non-fiction story. For speaking, students will
work on several types of oral presentations including story
telling, reporting on projects, giving personal views on
reading assignments and giving information sessions on parts
of the Land Claims Agreement.
