Here's a sample of the many things students did during the 2003-2004 year at NS.

Corrine Boisvert
of Taloyoak enjoys some company outside of the National
Archives in Ottawa. Each year, NS students visit the Archives
and do research to find old photos taken in their communities. |

Quentin Crockatt of Cambridge
Bay drums while his classmates sing traditional Inuit songs
at a cross-cultural event in Ottawa, Fall, 2003. |

Corrine Boisvert of Taloyoak
speaks with Elder Singuuri, who lit the Qulliq at a Symposium
on Peacebuilding and Conflict Transformation in Inuit and
African traditional societies, held at St. Paul's University
in Ottawa.

Naomie Padluq of Resolute
Bay enjoys a horseback ride outside of Ottawa. Each year,
NS students take time out from class to enjoythe experiences
that the south has to offer.

Jenna Kamingoak of Kugluktuk
buries deep into the files looking for old photos from her
region at the National Archives of Canada, Fall 2003

Jayne Omilgoitok of Cambridge Bay checks out artifacts made
by her ancestors at the National Museum of Civilization.
Each year, NS students are invited over to the Museum for
a special viewing of artifacts from across Nunavut.

at NS. The 22 students in the 1st year of the NS program
are together for all their classes.

NS students share their culture
at a workshop for government employees at Health Canada,
Fall 2003.

Parniga Thibaudeau (left)
and Elaine Lloyd of Iqaluit enjoy a conversation with a
visiting teacher from Mongolia. Meeting different people
is one of the best parts of the NS experience.
